Heinz School Hosts Annual Federal Career Day on November 15

The Heinz School will host the 5th Annual FEDERAL CAREER DAY on November 15, 2006, from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. at the University Center. The U.S. Office of Personnel Management has selected the event as one of only four recruiting events in the country to receive federal underwriting.

OPM logoPittsburgh Federal Career Day is a series of career-related events featuring national recruiters from the public sector and job-seekers from across the Western Pennsylvania region.  The event is open to college students and alumni from Southwestern Pennsylvania colleges and universities and the general public.

Features include a job fair with 80 federal, state and city agencies and a keynote address by newly returned Pittsburgh native Ray Morrow, Special Agent in Charge, Federal Bureau of Investigation. Break-out sessions include "The Federal Application Process," "the Federal Internship," and Mission-Critical Career Panels in Technology, Health and Law. The event will conclude with nine agency information sessions to take place immediately following the job fair.

The annual fair is co-sponsored by a consortium of eleven professional schools and programs within Carnegie Mellon, Duquesne University and the University of Pittsburgh.  It is underwritten by a grant from the U.S. Office of Personnel Management and is organized in conjunction with the Pittsburgh Federal Executive Board and the DC-based Partnership for Public Service.
