Heinz School MS3 2005 Graduates Give Back

As they were nearing graduation, the Heinz School’s MS3 Class of 2005 wanted to make a meaningful contribution that future students at the Heinz School could enjoy. So, the class banded together to raise enough funds to purchase an outdoor bench.

“We all appreciated the education we received from the Heinz School and wanted a way to say thank you,” said Kevin Fleming, who helped to spearhead the class’s gift, along with classmate Veronica Montoya. “We also felt that students would benefit from more places to gather and study outside.”

Today, the MS3 Class of 2005 bench is currently located in an alcove on the first floor of Hamburg Hall. The alcove is a favorite study spot and gathering area for many students as it gets sunlight from the two-story windows and has a large table where students can lay their study materials. Due to the construction around the outside of Hamburg Hall it is not possible to place it outside at this time. Once construction has ceased outside the building, the bench will be moved outside so students can enjoy the new green space around Hamburg Hall.

This bench is a very thoughtful and functional gift that all students can benefit from; the Heinz School students, faculty and staff wishes to extend a warm thank you to the MS3 Class of 2005 for their considerate gift.
