Arora Addresses D.C. Audiences
Ashish Arora, Professor of Economics and Public Policy, recently participated in two forums addressing major policy issues.
Arora was a featured panelist at a Book Forum ad the American Enterprise Institute for Public Policy Research. He discussed the patent system and biomedical research issues at the forum, Biotechnology and the Patent System: The Economic Implications of the Proposed Patent Reform Act of 2007.
On the same day Arora was also featured in a panel designed to bring together experts to discuss China and India's growth in science, technology and innovation. The panel, entitled The Dragon and the Elephant: Understanding the Development of Innovation Capacity
In China and India, was presented by the National Academies Board on Science, Technology and Economic Policy.
Arora's research focuses on the economics of technology and technical change. His research interests include the study of technology intensive industries such as software, biotechnology and chemicals, the role of patents and licensing in promoting technology startups, and the economics of information technology.
