Blumstein Featured in NIJ Journal
Al Blumstein, J. Erik Jonsson University Professor of Urban Systems and Operations Research and former Dean of the Heinz School, was featured in the June 2007 issue of the National Institute of Justice (NIJ) Journal.
The National Institute of Justice is the research, development, and evaluation agency of the U.S. Department of Justice. NIJ’s mission is to advance scientific research, development, and evaluation to enhance the administration of justice and public safety.
Most recently, Professor Blumstein was selected to win the prestigious 2007 Stockholm Prize in Criminology for his pioneering research into the development of criminal behavior. His analyses of the variations in the frequency of offending in careers of active criminals in US jurisdictions have had a global influence on justice policies and practices, as well as on the rapid increase in the influence of developmental and life-course criminology.
