Acquisti Identifies Facebook Privacy Risks
Applications that allow Facebook users to personalize their pages may pose privacy risks. Alessandro Acquisti notes that "Revealing information on quizzes or maps of places visited, for instance, may also make it easier for strangers to piece together tidbits to create larger security threats" in the Washington Post article, "A Flashy Facebook Page, at a Cost to Privacy".
The research interests of Acquisti, Assistant Professor of Information Systems and Public Policy, include the economics of privacy and information security, the economics of computers and AI, agents economics, computational economics, ecommerce, cryptography, anonymity, and electronic voting.
