How To Ask For A Raise


Linda Babcock discussed how to ask for a raise with Harry Smith on the CBS Early Show on Wednesday, April 16, 2008.

Babcock and Sara Laschever are the authors of the recently published "Ask For It."

Their 2003 book, "Women Don’t Ask: Negotiation and the Gender Divide" was named by Fortune Magazine as one of the 75 smartest business books of all time.

Babcock’s research is conducted at the interface between economics and psychology. Her focus is the area of negotiations and dispute resolution. She is the James M. Walton Professor of Economics and is the former Acting Dean at Carnegie Mellon University's H. John Heinz III School of Public Policy and Management. She is the founder and faculty director of the Program for Research and Outreach on Gender Equity in Society (PROGRESS).
