Consequential, a podcast from Carnegie Mellon University, uses richly produced storytelling to explore public policy's impacts as well as its potential to build a better future. The show is hosted and produced by Elaine Vitone and comes from CMU’s Heinz College of Information Systems and Public Policy.

CONSEQUENTIAL HOST & PRODUCER
Elaine Vitone (she/her) is a writer, editor, and audio producer who loves a good read (or listen!) with a teaching element. Her longform magazine features and narrative podcasts have won awards from the National Association of Science Writers, the Carnegie Science Center, the Association of American Medical Colleges, the Press Club of Western Pennsylvania, the Pittsburgh Black Media Federation, the International Association of Business Communicators, the Pennsylvania Women’s Press Association, and the University of Pittsburgh, where she earned her MFA in nonfiction writing. Prior to joining Consequential in Spring 2022, she was a longtime editor for Pitt Med magazine and host/producer of Pitt Medcast.
