The INTERSECT@CMU 2019 Conference on Health Care Innovation will address the rapidly changing landscape of health care, featuring panels of thought-leaders discussing emerging technologies, market systems, policy, delivery methods, and visions of the future.

Keynote Address
Panel One: Artificial Intelligence and Health Care Scale 
How will AI affect the development, delivery and experience of health care? Discussion topics will include applications of big data and AI (such as natural language processing, deep learning) to raising diagnostic accuracy, increasing speed of drug discovery, lowering operational costs and improving patient outcomes.

12:00-1:30 p.m. Lunch and Learn: Swartz Center for Entrepreneurship featuring student presentations on health care startups

1:30-4:30 p.m. - Afternoon Session

nel Two: Science or Science Fiction 
What will the future look like in medicine and health? How are science and the arts helping to shape what the future of health care will become?  The panel will blend science, technology, ethics and art, and include diverse experts highlighting topics like futurism, 3D printing of organs, and how virtual reality may improve patient experience and care.

Panel Three: The $3.68 Trillion Question 
will confront the issues related to the costs, pricing, and policy design of wellness and health care. This discussion will include topics like the impact of public policy (housing, WIC, immunization) on public health; consolidation and entry of non-traditional actors into the health care industry; pricing transparency; insurance marketplaces/ACA; drug policy, information regulation and organ donation policies.
