David Burke

With over forty years of professional experience within Information Technology Mr. Burke’s responsibilities have ranged from both Application and Operating Systems Developer through numerous levels of Executive Management including Chief Information Officer. 

Similarly, Mr. Burke’s experience has ranged from large federal governmental organizations, venture capital investment firms, small start-up software development and high technology firms, large software development firms through large financial institutions.    Examples of positions held and representative organizations include:

The varied experiences in these roles and organizations have provided Mr. Burke with a unique and broad perspective regarding the formulation and, ultimately, application of technology solutions to both business and organizational problems.   The achievement of those solutions ranged from the management of small teams to the management of large complex organizations numbering in the hundreds of people and multi-million dollar budgets.  In the early years of Mr. Burke’s career the focus was upon solutions based upon large computers and corresponding networks such as ARPANet.   Since the mid-1990’s the focus has shifted to solutions presented via the Internet through both distributed and centralized computing systems. 

Since 2004 Mr. Burke has been involved with Heinz College of Information Systems and Public Policy as a client, Faculty Advisor and Adjunct Professor. During that time he has overseen numerous Capstone Projects within the Heinz College MISM Program, Tepper Business School – A.T. Kearney Program and has taught Project Management.
