Currently Abbi is a full time faculty of Information Sciences and Technology at Penn State University.
He is finishing his PhD in Management Science at University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee. He earned a MS in Physics from Calcutta University (India) in 1983 and a MS in Computer Science from University of Tulsa in 1992. He worked in industry for more than eleven years developing software for embedded systems such as routers, cable modem termination systems etc. He has taught computer related courses in many different universities such as Penn State University, Shepherd University, Milwaukee School of Engineering, University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee and Edgewood College. He teaches courses in the areas of Information Security, Networking, Programming, Discrete mathematics and System Analysis and Design. His research interests are in Economics of Cloud computing and Business Intelligence (Data and Text mining). He has presented papers in the premier IST related conferences such as ICIS and AMCIS.
He loves to work with students and the students of Penn State University, Beaver campus awarded him the outstanding adviser award for 2009-10. Currently he lives in the greater Pittsburgh area. During his free time, he enjoys traveling with his family. He has been to all the continents except Africa.
