Adam Hime

Senior Vice President, Business and Legal Affairs, Viacom Media Networks

Adam Hime is Senior Vice President, Business and Legal Affairs, in Viacom Media Networks' Global Entertainment Group.

In his tenure at Viacom Media Networks, Hime has served in a variety of business and legal capacities, beginning his in-house career as Senior Counsel (2007-09), before being promoted to Vice President (2009-11), and to Senior Vice President (2011-Present).

Hime has provided legal counsel with respect to all of the brands within the Viacom Media Networks portfolio, and to over one hundred scripted, non-scripted, studio, digital, marketing, live events, and comedy projects including: THE SHANNARA CHRONICLES (MTV), TEEN WOLF (MTV), THE INBETWEENEERS (MTV), BEAVIS AND BUTT-HEAD (MTV), JERSEY SHORE (MTV), 16 & PREGNANT, TEEN MOM AND RELATED PROJECTS (MTV), PUNK'D (MTV), JACKASS (MTV), RIDICULOUSNESS (MTV), DOG AND BETH: ON THE HUNT (CMT), PARTY DOWN SOUTH (CMT), INSTANT MOM (Nick), UNDERCOVER STINGS (Spike), KEY AND PEELE (Comedy Central), INSIDE AMY SCHUMER (Comedy Central), DRUNK HISTORY (Comedy Central), NATHAN FOR YOU (Comedy Central), WORKAHOLICS (Comedy Central), and CELEBRITY REHAB (VH1). 

Hime also previously led the west coast Litigation and Intellectual Property department for VMN. In this capacity, Hime served as lead in-house counsel on matters in state and federal court including: Ellyn v. MTV Networks et al. (Cal. Sup., 2010) (granting VMN's demurrer); Izzo v. Ortiz et al. (New Jersey Sup., 2010) (denying plaintiffs' application for a TRO and Preliminary Injunction); Brantley v. NBC Universal et al. (USDC, CD Cal., 9th Cir. Ct. App., 2011) (granting, and affirming, motion to dismiss); Brownmark Films LLC v. Comedy Partners et al (USDC, ED Wisc., 7th Cir. Ct. App., 2012 (granting and affirming motion to dismiss); Bateman v. Associated Press et al. (USDC, CD Cal., 2013) (granting motion to dismiss).

In addition to teaching in the MEIM Program, Hime teaches an upper division Television and Digital Media class at the University of Southern California, Gould School of Law, and has served as a frequent lecturer and panelist for the California Bar, Beverly Hills Bar Association, and numerous other professional organizations.

In 2009, Hime was recognized as a Rising Star in the areas of Entertainment and Intellectual Property law by Los Angeles Magazine.
