Rahul Ladhania is a Ph.D. student at the Heinz College of Information Systems and Public Policy.
His primary area of interest is health policy. This spans US programs (Medicaid-Medicare and studying behavior of populations affected by them) and international (India-focused). A large part of his current research is on studying policy/technological interventions (Medicaid expansion under the Affordable Care Act, electronic health records) using a mix of statistical and machine learning tools, and how they impact health outcomes and patient behavior.
He graduated from IIT Madras (Chennai, India) with a B.Tech in Materials Engineering in 2010. He has worked across multiple sectors with organizations like the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), Deloitte Consulting, and Foundation for Democratic Reforms (Hyderabad, India). He is also a co-founder of Friends of Kasam Inc., a registered non-profit dedicated to support the education of underprivileged children in Kasam (Tamil Nadu, India).
