Veronica Marotta is a Ph.D. student at the Heinz College of Information Systems and Public Policy.
I am a PhD student at Heinz where I came to work with Prof. Alessandro Acquisti. I am member of the Peex lab (Privacy Economics Experiments).
My research falls within the general field of Economics of Information System with a particular focus on Economics of Privacy and Digital Economy.
I am interested in understanding how the amount of personal (and sensitive) information that individuals/consumers disclose (mostly on the web) is used by third parties (e.g. marketing companies, social networks, etc..) and how this affects individuals themselves. More specifically, I would like to analyze whether the advent of “Data Economy” has improved and to what extent consumers’ online experience.
