Dr. Allyce Pinchback is a Co-Founder and the inaugural Executive Director of Black Women for Better Education (BW4BE), an organization committed to ensuring that Black children in the Pittsburgh region receive the high-quality education they need and deserve. Since its inception in 2020, BW4BE has been instrumental in raising awareness about key educational issues and electing unapologetically student-focused candidates to the Pittsburgh Public Schools Board of Directors.
An award-winning education scholar and advocate, Allyce has spent over fifteen years in the non-profit and education sectors. During her five-year tenure at Pittsburgh Public Schools, she spent over two years as the Director of Professional Development. In that role, Allyce oversaw the District’s professional learning system, supervised the professional development team, and worked cross-functionally with over thirty staff developers to create and deliver professional learning and development training to over 2,000 staff members. Allyce spent one year as the Chief Program Officer for Gwen’s Girls, where she oversaw the organization’s programs and services, and three years as a Program Officer for the World Affairs Council of Pittsburgh, where she was primarily responsible for building relationships with schools and community partners to increase Black male student participation in the Council’s Global Travel Scholarship Program. In 2017, Allyce founded Pinchback Consulting, a firm that supports organizations with getting smarter and better at their work through capacity building, strategic planning, project management, and community-engaged processes. Her clients include a variety of local and national non-profits, foundations, and educational institutions.
Allyce is passionate about giving back to the community, as demonstrated through her service on numerous boards, commissions, award selection committees, and as a mentor. A native of Pittsburgh, Allyce earned a Bachelor of Science in Psychology and Japanese from the University of Pittsburgh in 2009, an MPM from Heinz College in 2019, and a Doctorate of Education from Pitt in 2024.
