Mark Christopher works as a writer/director in Los Angeles, New York, Europe and Brazil.

Mark Christopher works as a writer/director of film, TV and stage in the U.S., Brazil and Europe.  His debut feature film 54, set at New York’s famed Studio 54, launched Ryan Phillippe and Salma Hayek in their first major roles; featured Mike Myers in a career defining dramatic role, and discovered Mark Ruffalo. The studio recut the film in 1998, but Miramax has now released Mark’s 54 Director’s Cut on HBO Max after it premiered at the Berlinale to celebratory reviews and a new life in worldwide release.

Mark has written pilots for CBS, Fox, MTV, Sony and Warner Bros among others. His current TV deal is a US/German co-production with Stampede Ventures and Leonine Studios. He was the creator/executive producer of Real Life: The Musical which aired on the Oprah Winfrey Network, produced by ITV.

Mark’s original stage musical Mid-Century Moderns premiered last April in Palm Springs to rave reviews and a sold-out run. The open-ended run begins in October. Other projects in development are the feature film SARA, a Czech/German thriller set in Berlin and the original stage musical Me and Mrs. Jones.

His award-winning short films are in re-release by Frameline on a variety of platforms. They have screened at the Museum of Modern Art and have been programmed on numerous television networks and international film festivals including the Berlinale where Alkali, Iowa won the Teddy Award. His work has been profiled in The New York TimesThe Guardian, VarietyThe Wall Street JournalArt Forum, and Vanity Fair. His Portuguese is fluent, and he can muddle his way through a variety of other languages.
