Executive Vice President, Business and Legal Affairs, National Geographic Partners
Jeffrey Schneider is the Executive Vice President, Business and Legal Affairs, for National Geographic Partners, a joint venture between 21st Century Fox and the National Geographic Society, which was formed to capitalize on the media brands of National Geographic.
He is the chief legal officer of the company, which is comprised of global businesses in the areas of television, publishing, home entertainment and consumer products. He manages a department of 48 (including 18 attorneys) dedicated to over 10 distinct businesses and is in charge of all of the company’s business negotiations and transactional strategy. He is based in Washington, D.C.
Prior to this role, Jeff was the EVP Business and Legal Affairs & General Counsel – Shine America (now Endemol-Shine U.S.). Shine is the producer and distributor of television programs and formats such as THE BIGGEST LOSER, MASTERCHEF, THE BRIDGE, AND THE OFFICE.
Prior to joining Shine, Jeff spent 19 years in executive and/or legal capacities at A & E Networks/Lifetime, Fox Television Studios (a division of 20th Century Fox Television), MTV Networks (a division of Viacom), Paramount Pictures Corp. and was an associate at the entertainment law firms Katz, Golden & Sullivan and Slaff, Mosk & Rudman, where he represented talent, producers, writers, directors and production companies in all manner of television and film transactions.
Jeff holds a J.D. from the University of Southern California (1991, with honors, Law Review), as well as a B.A. in Communication Studies from UCLA (1987, cum laude). He began his legal career in 1991 as Law Clerk to the Chief U.S. District Court Judge for the District of Nevada, the Hon. Edward C. Reed, Jr."
