Operational Leadership for Physicians
You've demonstrated your dedication to pursuing leadership through participation in the PAMED year-long Leadership Academy. Build on that foundational knowledge and gain a deeper understanding of the mechanisms by which leaders are judged with Carnegie Mellon University’s new Operational Leadership for Physicians online certificate program. This program provides physicians with tools to evaluate decision support methods, strategies to manage organizational cultural issues, and solid background on the policy landscape that shapes the way health care is delivered. Those who successfully complete the program can receive credit for three required courses toward the Master of Medical Management degree.
Drawn from Heinz College’s Medical Management for Physicians master’s degree, the program includes classes in operations management, health policy, and organizational ethics. The program also features a professional lecture series on digital transformation in the health-care field, which prepares you to harness the power of data and become a changemaker in the industry. Students begin the program with a professional development plan and submit a reflective video upon the program's completion.
The Operational Leadership for Physicians program is open to Pennsylvania Medical Society members who have completed the Year-Round Leadership Academy, which ensures that you build a strong network of future leaders in the health-care field. This program is especially relevant for department and division heads as well as service line managers.
