Benefits

Several benefits are provided exclusively to all IT Lab Junior Summer Institute fellows.

1. Graduate School Scholarship Incentives

Students who have successfully completed any IT Lab Junior Summer Institute and are later admitted to a full-time Heinz College Master's degree program are offered a generous scholarship. The current award to IT Lab alums is a minimum of a half-tuition (50%) scholarship and up to a full-tuition scholarship.

2. Career Services Workshops

Career Services provides top tier services to students, alumni, and employers. They will partner with you to provide effective tools and resources for graduate school search and development and guide you for life after college. They will help perfect your resume and teach you how to highlight your accomplishments.

3. Office of Admissions and Program Directors

IT Lab fellows will each have the opportunity for one-on-one meetings with admissions and program staff members to learn more about applying to graduate school and preparing for life after college.

4. Undergraduate Course Credit

Credit earned in your IT Lab courses will often transfer to your undergraduate institution. This would decrease the number of credits you would need to complete in the final semesters of your undergraduate program. Please refer to your home institution's transfer-credit policy to determine if you are permitted to transfer in credit from your IT Lab coursework.

5. Weekly Lunch and Learn Sessions

IT Lab Fellows will participate in semi-weekly lunch and learn sessions lead by subject matter experts from the cybersecurity field, representing DoD, U.S. Government, Law Enforcement, Industry, and Academia. During these sessions you will interact with Chief Information Security Officers, Chief Information Officers, Chief Risk Officers, and others; providing you the opportunity to meet, ask questions, and network with leaders in cybersecurity.
