International Crisis Negotiation Exercise

Description
The topic is Conflicts in the South China Sea and the exercise will take place on March 14 and 15, 2026, and is fully in-person and required. There will be a lunchtime prep session on Monday, March 9 from 12:30-1:45, and one on Tuesday, March 10 from 12:30-1:45pm. There will also be a debrief scheduled on (TBA) between noon and 1:15 PM. For the prep and debrief, in-person attendance is preferred, but we make accommodations for Zoom and will provide recordings.
This introductory course (there are no prerequisite courses) is designed to: 1) increase your understanding of international conflicts and negotiation processes; and 2) improve your effectiveness as a team leader, team member and negotiator. Students will prepare for and participate in an immersive negotiation exercise led by the United States Army War College.
