Lakshmi Iyengar

Lakshmi Iyengar is an Agent in the Media Finance division at CAA where she is instrumental in the structuring and packaging of Independent feature films.
Lakshmi began her career in 2009 in Film Acquisitions tracking projects, attending film festivals and acquiring films for Universal Pictures International, Universal Pictures and Focus Features. Following her time with Focus, she was the Vice President of Worldwide Acquisitions for Sony Pictures Entertainment. Prior to joining CAA, she was most recently the Executive Vice President of Production and Development for Dev Patel’s Minor Realm.
Born in Sherman Oaks, California, Lakshmi’s background is deeply rooted in the arts and live performance. She has worked for the Los Angeles Opera and is the Co-Artistic Director for the Rangoli Dance Company. She additionally serves on the board of the Dance Resource Center of Los Angeles and is adjunct faculty for Carnegie Mellon’s Masters inEntertainment Industry Management program.
Lakshmi has a BA in Theater with a Minor in Italian from UCLA, and a Masters in Entertainment Industry Management from Carnegie Mellon University. She additionally studied abroad in Bologna, Italy and has interned with the Cineteca di Bologna.
