Tom Meredith has over 30 years of consumer research experience in entertainment, digital media, packaged goods, services, and government.

Tom has served 10 years on the faculty of CMU’s MEIM program as Capstone Advisor, mentoring dozens of students now making their mark in the entertainment industry.  In the spring semester of 2019, Tom taught Marketing Research in the Entertainment Industry for the program.

Tom held the role of General Manager, Television Research at Screen Engine LLC, an entertainment-focused research insights provider. At Screen Engine, Tom was responsible for building all broadcast, cable, and digital television businesses.

Prior to Screen Engine, Tom was Senior Vice President, Business Development for Nielsen Entertainment - Television Group. In just over two years, Tom added to the NETV client roster, among others, NBC, Ion Media, Oxygen, BBCA, Spike, Food Network, Bravo, Epix, NFL Network, Ovation, UP, and Walt Disney Records.

Before Nielsen, Tom was at the vanguard of online-based research, devoting five years as Senior Vice President at OTX. During this time, Tom leveraged his position for client services to all TV, video game, radio/music, online/portal, print publication, and theme park businesses as SVP Client Partnerships and Strategic Planning.

Earlier in his career, Tom was on the client side of research, addressing the changing media environment to digital platforms. Tom held executive positions at the Disney Channel, Warner Music Group, and Intertainer, an early VOD and streaming start-up.

Tom began his career in packaged goods, first at Nestle and then Sparkletts Drinking Water. Tom’s first job was in the research laboratory of Nestle, later moving into the Consumer Research Department, working on the Contadina, Friskies, and Mighty Dog brands.

A Hollywood resident for nearly 37 years, Tom is devoted to local public service. He was local manager of the region for the US Census Bureau for Census2010.  Tom returned to US Census Bureau as Area Manager for Census2020, where he was responsible for all field operations across five counties within Southern California. Tom has been publicly elected to seats on both the City of Los Angeles Hollywood Studio District and the Hollywood United Neighborhood Council(s), where he attained executive roles. In addition, Tom served on the staff of Los Angeles City Councilmember David Ryu.
