Orientation 2021 Instagram Contest

Open the Instagram app on your phone, and make sure that you are on your profile home page. You can access the home page by clicking on the image of a house in the lower lefthand corner of your screen.

Once you have accessed the home page, begin editing your Instagram Story by clicking on the image of the blue and white "+" symbol at the top lefthand corner of your screen, next to the picture of your Instagram profile image and above the "Your Story" text.

Use the Instagram app to take a photo or shoot a video. You can also upload a photo or video from your phone's camera roll. Each Instagram Story video can be up to 15 seconds long.

Once you've selected the image or video you would like to share, access the sticker selection screen by clicking on the "sticker" image on the top righthand section of your screen.

On the sticker selection screen, type "@heinzcollege" into the toolbar to access the Scotty Dog stickers. Tap on either of the Scotty luggage images (or both!) to add them to your photo or video. You can add as many stickers as you would like by repeating the process outlined above before sharing your Instagram Story.

Once you've added your sticker or stickers to your image or video, you can resize, move, rotate, or flip them using the "pinch," "drag," and "tap" functionality of your smartphone.

When you've added the sticker and edited the image or video to your liking, be sure to tag @heinzcollege and use the hashtag #CMUHeinzKickoff so we can track your stories and enter you into the contest. Make sure that your stories are public-facing so that we can see your posts.

Click the "Your Story" button to share your Instagram Story. Start with a photo or video from your hometown, and chronicle your journey with Scotty to Pittsburgh via additional stories throughout the summer!

We'll randomly draw the names of winners from the pool of participants during the first week of classes and notify the winners via our social media channels.
