Join us in-person on Thursday October 5, 2023 at Carnegie Mellon University to explore how universities can partner with government agencies, social impact organizations and communities to address today's challenges.
Public Interest Tech @ Carnegie Mellon University (PIT@CMU) Career Fair & Conference is a one-day, in-person event for government agencies, social impact organizations, professionals and students throughout the Western Pennsylvania region interested in creating a better world through technology. It convenes the country’s most talented students and thought leaders from organizations and companies focused on creating responsible and accountable tech that serves the public interest. The event showcases resources, opportunities, insights, case studies and career paths while directly connecting employers who are recruiting for jobs, internships, and volunteer opportunities.

CAREER FAIR INFORMATION FOR EMPLOYERS
This in-person event is FREE & includes:
- One (1) booth for up to two (2) representatives from your organization
- Networking lunch from 12:00 - 1:00 pm
- Fixed reimbursement amount for some travel expenses and parking (if needed)
Student Talent Pool: Don’t miss your chance to meet early in the fall semester with candidates from programs such as:
- Carnegie Mellon University undergrad and graduate students, including Heinz College graduate students in Information Systems, Security Policy and Public Policy Degree programs

CAREER FAIR INFORMATION FOR STUDENTS
You will be able to meet with representatives from participating organizations to discuss full-time, internship and volunteer opportunities. Participating public/government sector employers need a wide range of talent including: project management, data engineering, analytics, IT and policy analysts.
HOW TO ATTEND
- Registration opens for students on September 21, 2023 at 1:30 pm.
- Check-in: Student check-in will begin at 1:00 pm on Thursday, October 5, 2023 in the Cohon University Center on Carnegie Mellon University’s Campus; students will self-select which organization’s booth they choose to visit, and will be given a map of employers in attendance
- Attire: Business casual
- Engaging with Employers: Research employers in advance, be prepared with good questions and take time with each employer. Students should bring business cards and resumes but only offer them to representatives after a conversation has occurred. Check out these career fair preparation resources.
- International Students: On a case-by-case basis, non-Federal government employers are able to and do accept international student applicants. If you have questions about your eligibility or specific employers, please contact your Career Center or advisor.
