My research centers on the social and managerial implications of digital technologies. I utilize state-of-the-art empirical estimation methods and machine learning models to address critical questions at the intersection of digital technologies and society . I am deeply committed to understanding how digital innovations influence organizational behavior and societal trends. Through my work, I strive to offer insights that enable organizations to navigate the digital landscape effectively, fostering both technological advancement and social good.
My recent work explores the impact of the recent increase in book banning events from libraries. Using proprietary title level circulation data, I show that book bans induce a Streisand Effect thereby increasing the interest in banned books. I document the important role social media platforms play in driving this interest and provide suggestive evidence of the influence of book ban rhetoric on political donations. My work highlights the political consumerism aspect of book bans and underscores the crucial role of digital platforms in driving this behavior.
