Michael W. Bigrigg


Principal Research Scientist with General Dynamics Mission Systems

Dr. Bigrigg is a Principal Research Scientist with General Dynamics Mission Systems | Viz. He manages research in the areas of data science, text and network analytics, and language systems.

He received the General Dynamics Science and Technology Award in 2013. Previously, he was a Project Scientist at Carnegie Mellon University for over 15 years, working with groups across campus from the Computer Science Department, Institute for Complex Engineered Systems, Civil and Environmental Engineering Department, and the Institute for Software Research. He was the Co-Director of the Embedded and Reliable Information Systems Laboratory in the Institute for Complex Engineered Systems. He has worked as a commercial software engineer, project manager, and software consultant. He received his Ph.D. in Engineering from Carnegie Mellon University and his M.S. in Computer Science from the University of Pittsburgh.
