Andre Cardoso

I am a Ph.D. candidate in Public Policy and Management at Carnegie Mellon University. I hold a Master's degree in Applied Economics and a Bachelor's degree in Economics, both from the University of São Paulo, Brazil.

My committee at Carnegie Mellon University includes Edson Severnini (chair), Akshaya Jha, and Karen Clay. I am an applied microeconomist with a focus on Industrial Organization, Energy Markets, Environmental Economics, and Competition and Antitrust. My research examines energy efficiency and energy transitions, with a recent focus on fossil fuel markets. In my current work, I study how policies and new technologies contribute to the replacement of most pollutant gasoline-driven vehicles.

Prior to my Ph.D., I worked as a consultant in Brazil in both the Business Intelligence and the Law and Antitrust departments at LCA Economic Consulting.
