Biography of Mark F. DeSantis

Mark DeSantis is CEO and cofounder of Musing AI, which provides organizational intelligence for companies large and small. Previously, he was CEO of Bloomfield (acquired by Kubota Corporation), which uses AI to help specialty crop growers improve yields across the US, EU, Africa, and South America. Prior to Bloomfield, he was CEO and cofounder of RoadBotics (acquired by Michelin), using AI to assess roadway infrastructure across seven countries. Earlier he was a CEO and cofounder of kWantix Trading LLC (acquired by Moody Aldrich Partners), a quant energy hedge fund, and CEO and cofounder of kWantera, an energy trading company.

Earlier in his career, DeSantis was the director of government relations for Texas Instruments and held policy positions in the White House Office of Science and Technology Policy in the administration of George H. W. Bush, the US Department of Justice, and the staff of US Senator John Heinz and US Representative Michael DeWine. Earlier, he was a management consultant with Booz Allen.

DeSantis is an adviser to several tech companies, as well as Cybernetix Ventures and Cascadia Capital. He is also an adjunct professor of entrepreneurship at Carnegie Mellon University and holds an MS in technology management from the American University, a Ph.D. in public policy from the Schar School of Policy and Government at George Mason University, and a doctorate in business administration from the Fox School of Business at Temple University.

He is the coauthor of a soon-to-be-released book: The Real AI: Creating Infrastructure & Cognitive Capital to Do Real Work. He also has a Substack on all things AI: Real AI = Real Work. DeSantis also completed executive education at the AI Academy at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, a venture capital session at Wharton, and marketing at the Kellogg School of Business.
