Laurie Ellington


Adjunct Instructor

Laurie Ellington is a Public Policy Manager at Amazon.com, where she works on federal issues with a focus on immigration, education, and accessibility for people with disabilities.

Prior to joining Amazon, Laurie worked for CTIA- The Wireless Association, the national trade association representing the wireless industry, as a Manager for the external and state affairs team. In this capacity, Laurie managed the wireless accessibility portfolio and supported her team on privacy and public safety issues within wireless communications. She helped to build various 3rd party and industry coalitions and developed policy guidance. Prior to transitioning to the telecomm and tech industry, Laurie was a Legislative Assistant to Congressman Ed Pastor (D-AZ), a member of the prestigious House Appropriations Committee. As a legislative staffer, Laurie managed the congressman's activities on the Financial Services and General Government Subcommittee and oversaw a legislative portfolio including Financial Services, Healthcare, Telecommunications, Technology, and Postal issues.
A Georgia native, Laurie is a graduate of Georgia State University (Atlanta, GA) and Carnegie Mellon University where she earned dual degrees in Public Policy and Sociology and a Masters of Science in Public Policy and Management, respectively. Laurie resides in Washington, DC with her partner Antrell and their son, Dorian.
