Laura Everhart


Adjunct Faculty

A fundraising professional, Laura has a decade of experience in all areas of development, with a specific concentration in major gifts. She is actively involved in nonprofit boards around the city of Pittsburgh and is an expert in consulting, fundraising, project management and organizational development.

Laura has worked as an Executive Director at CCS Fundraising, where she raised over $17 million dollars in the course of her tenure there. She has also spent time at the Alzheimer's Association, Seton Hall University's School of Law, and has currently been an Associate Director, Development at CMU's School of Computer Science (SCS).

In her current role she manages a portfolio of 125+ prospects, raises over one million dollars a year, travels monthly across the country to meet with donors, and spearheads a number of projects, including a NASA collaboration, DEI fund work, and capital projects. She also lead her current department to an effective division of labor for the seven departments at SCS. She has also effectively coped with a 40% loss of her team during the pandemic, with the remaining staff raising more than ever before during the pandemic.

Laura also spends her time advising local nonprofits, including MetaMesh Internet Solutions, Calvary Episcopal Church, and Lawrenceville United. She has also been invited to strategize for Britsburgh, the Mayor's transition team, Future Tenant, and Phi Beta Kappa's CMU Chapter.

Laura holds a magna cum laude BA, C'10 in vocal performance from Sewanee: The University of the South, and an MA, C'12, from Heinz College at Carnegie Mellon in Arts Management. She is also a member of Phi Beta Kappa, a national honor society.
