Denise Lawson


Adjunct Faculty

Denise has more than 20 years of professional experience in management consulting, business strategy, and creating and delivering innovative solutions for a wide range of clients in the government, healthcare, education, commercial, and non-profit sectors.

She spent close to 15 years at Booz Allen Hamilton where she led client engagements in the following functional areas: eLearning, strategic communications, information architecture, data strategy, data analysis, web/mobile application development, business process redesign, performance improvement, competency modeling, occupational analysis, and workforce planning. Some of her past clients include the Department of Veterans Affairs, the Department of Homeland Security, the Environmental Protection Agency, the Internal Revenue Service, and the Defense Manpower Data Center.

Following her career at Booz Allen, Denise was the Senior Vice President of Strategy at a start-up technology company where she helped the firm grow from $1.5 million in revenue to over $40 million in revenue. In her role as Senior Vice President, Denise provided strategic direction on new product and service offerings and corporate capabilities. She also established a healthcare business segment serving clients such as the Veterans Health Administration, and private hospital networks.
Denise currently provides advisory consulting services to a variety of companies and organizations both in the US and internationally focused primarily on the health and education industries.
Denise has a Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology from Georgetown University and a Master of Business Administration degree with a concentration in Marketing and Information Technology from the University of Edinburgh, Scotland. She also has a PMP certification from the Project Management Institute.
