Dr. Randall is an Adjunct Instructor in the Heinz College of Information Systems and Public Policy, Carnegie Mellon University

Henry B Randall MD, MBA, is a liver, kidney & pancreas transplant & HPB surgeon at SSM Health/ St. louis University. He’s a Professor of Surgery, Division Chief and Surgical Directors of the Liver and Kidney Transplant Programs; Executive Director of the SSM Health Center for Abdominal Transplantation. His new role is that of Adjunct Instructor in the Heinz College, Information Systems-Public Policy-Management, Carnegie Mellon University.

Dr. Randall earned his bachelor’s degree in Medical Technology from Michigan State University, Doctor of Medicine degree from Wayne State University School of Medicine; he completed his general surgical training, NIH Research Fellowship and Abdominal Transplant Fellowship training at the University of California, San Francisco-East Bay and San Francisco campuses. Later, he completed an MBA at the Trulaske School of Business at the University of Missouri at Columbia, MO (focus: accounting & finance).

Dr. Randall in an Associate Editor for Progress in Transplantation; reviews for American Journal of Transplantation, Liver Transplantation, International Transplantation, and several other journals; He has published over 100 articles and (3) book chapters. Dr. Randall is a mentor and advocate for students, residents, fellows, and early career faculty development with a particular interest in URMs navigating a career in medicine and/or surgery.

My research and funding is focused in two areas: 1) T Regs in Ischemia & Reperfusion Injury in kidney transplant recipients ($380K), 2) the use of Ai/ML/DL and developing new tools ($2.8M) in healthcare and transplantation.
