Beverley R. Wheeler


Adjunct Faculty

Beverley R. Wheeler is an innovative Senior Executive with a background in corporate and public sector process development, crisis resolution, civic engagement community/economic development and planning as well as policy development and implementation.

Dr. Wheeler has over 30 years of progressive experience in all phases of public and private sector policy development. She is recognized as a dynamic proactive problem solver who readily identifies business problems, formulates solutions, and initiates change and implements new processes in challenging and diverse environments. She has served as the President and CEO of a charter school management organization serving 1400 inner city students in six schools for grades pre-K to eighth grade; Executive Director of the DC State Board of Education; Chief of Staff to a council member in the District of Columbia and in various policy roles for four District of Columbia Mayors.

Dr. Wheeler holds a B.S. in Social and Decision Sciences and M.S. in Management and Public Policy from Carnegie Mellon University and a Masters and Doctorate in Education from Harvard University. She has a close relationship with Carnegie Mellon University having served as the president of the Carnegie Mellon University Alumni Association, a member of the Andrew Carnegie Society and a member of the Heinz College Alumni Board.
