Carnegie Mellon University's Heinz College and ESAN University Announce Accelerated Master’s Program Partnership
Carnegie Mellon University’s (CMU) Heinz College of Information Systems and Public Policy and ESAN University, a private, non-profit university in Lima, Peru, today announced a partnership to establish an accelerated path for ESAN students to earn a master’s degree from Heinz College.
The new agreement will allow top undergraduate students who have completed four years at ESAN University’s Faculty of Engineering in Lima to transition to CMU in Pittsburgh, PA to complete their graduate studies on an accelerated timeline. Depending on the master’s degree pursued at Heinz College, students may earn their bachelor’s and master’s degrees in as little as five years.
"We are excited about our partnership with ESAN University," said Kirsten Martin, H. John Heinz Dean of Heinz College. “Heinz College is committed to global collaboration and excellence in technology and policy education, and we look forward to this collaboration with ESAN, one of Latin America’s leading institutions.”
The accelerated master’s program is designed to augment the education of top engineering graduates at ESAN University by providing them the opportunity to pursue graduate studies in artificial intelligence systems management, information systems management, business intelligence and data analytics as well as information security policy and management.
The program is open to ten ESAN students and will begin in August 2026.
"Our new partnership with Heinz College will provide our engineering students with a novel pathway to continue their education that will transform their futures,” said Jaime Serida Nishimura, President of ESAN University. “We are grateful for this collaboration and the opportunities it presents to our students.”
