As an IT Lab Fellow, you are a part of the Carnegie Mellon University "Go Research!" program. The Go Research! Program administers your housing during the IT Lab summer program. Go Research students will be housed in Fifth/Neville Apartments, near the corner of Fifth Avenue and Neville Street. Please note: this building does not have a front service desk.
Housing assignments are based on Gender Identity. Please complete the pre-arrival survey to share your Gender Identity.
Apartment options will be 3 people (a single & a double bedroom) or 2 people (a double bedroom) in furnished apartments with kitchens and bathrooms.
Residents should be advised that they will be responsible for providing the following items, which can be brought with them or purchased locally:
- Bedding and bath linens
- Pots, pans, plates, utensils, other kitchen items etc.
- Cleaning supplies
Fifth/Neville Apartments are fully outfitted with digital locks, so residents will use their sponsored ID cards to gain entry into the building, their apartments and their individual rooms within the apartment.
All indoor community/common space is located in the basement of the building.
- The Housing check-in date/time for IT Lab is: Thursday, June 9 at 3:00PM.
- The Housing check-out date/time for IT Lab is: Saturday, July 30 at 12:00PM.
Residents will be responsible for cleaning their rooms/apartments throughout their stay. Cleaning of the building’s common areas will conducted by Custodial Services.
All apartments will be initially set-up with toilet paper and garbage bags. As residents need more supplies, they will be available with the RA residing in Fifth/Neville Apartments (name and location will be provided once the hiring process is finalized).
Residents are responsible for garbage removal from their rooms/apartments. The Fifth/Neville Apartments trash room is located in the basement. There are labeled bins for trash, paper, and plastic/glass. From there, Custodial Services will facilitate emptying these bins and disposing in larger dumpsters outside of the building.
Laundry is free and does not require a laundry card in Fifth/Neville Apartments. Laundry machines are available on the ground floor of the building.
The internet in Fifth/Neville Apartments is CMU Wi-Fi wired throughout the building. There is one cable connection provided per apartment.
For any lock-outs during business hours, residents should visit the CES Summer Housing Guest Services Office (1st Floor of Stever House - 1030 Morewood Avenue, Pittsburgh, PA 15213) to obtain a temporary housing key until The HUB is able to provide a replacement (see ID Card section below). For any lockouts after 5:00pm during the week, or anytime on the weekends, participants will need to call University Police on the non-emergency line 412-268-6232 for assistance with gaining access to their apartments/rooms.
