Housing Information

Residents are responsible for providing the following items:

• Bedding and bath linens
• Pots, pans, plates, utensils, other kitchen items, etc.
• Cleaning supplies
• Iron, ironing board if interested

Housing check-in is Thursday, June 13 at 3:00 PM.

Housing check-out is Saturday, August 3 at 12:00 PM.

Residents are responsible for cleaning their rooms/apartments throughout their stay and for garbage removal from their rooms/apartments. Trash should be disposed of in the dumpsters located behind the building on the ground level. Residents are asked not to drag bags of trash down the hallways.

Residents are responsible for cleaning up after themselves if utilizing the building’s community kitchen space, lounge, study rooms, etc.

All apartments will be initially set-up with toilet paper and garbage bags. As residents need more supplies, they will be available with the RA residing in Fairfax Apartments (RA name and room number will be provided closer to move-in date).

Laundry is free and does not require a laundry card in Fairfax Apartments. The building’s main laundry room is located on the basement level of the building just off the elevator. There is also a small ADA accessible laundry room located on the first floor.

The internet in Fairfax Apartments is CMU Wi-Fi wired throughout the building. There is one cable connection provided per apartment.

For any lock-outs during business hours, residents should visit the CES Summer Housing Guest Services Office (1st Floor of Stever House - 1030 Morewood Avenue, Pittsburgh, PA 15213) to obtain a temporary housing key until The HUB is able to provide a replacement (see ID Card section below). For any lockouts after 5:00pm during the week, or anytime on the weekends, participants will need to call University Police on the non-emergency line 412-268- 6232 for assistance with gaining access to their apartments/rooms.

If a resident’s sponsored ID card is lost or stolen, they will need to notify The HUB immediately so that the card can be deactivated. Residents should visit The HUB during business hours to acquire a replacement ID (resident is responsible for any replacement fees).
