Description

After successfully completing this course, students will have a basic understanding of how to solve problems using data analytics techniques in Tableau. This course will not go into mathematical details behind analytics techniques but rather their applications and how to leverage insights for decision-makers from them.  Techniques such as forecasting, regression, clustering, and other models will be covered in this course. Aspects of AI, plug-ins, code integrations, and external connections with Tableau will be covered. This course will face students with real examples and real-world data, as an increasing number of organizations nowadays collect data to support their decision-making process.

 

*This course demands a quick pace, active participation, and intricate collaboration with your peers. Only officially enrolled students will receive credit, and attendance will not be permitted for anyone else.

Learning Outcomes

By the end of this class, students will learn the following:

  1. Apply and comprehend commonly used data analytics techniques with Tableau Desktop. Understand multiple data analytics techniques' advantages, disadvantages, and utility through several assignments and a final project.
  2. Produce effective data visualizations that allow from data exploration to data storytelling.
  3. Develop analytics that yield insights for different stakeholders through Tableau sheets, data stories, and dashboards.
  4. Be able to understand and apply different integrations, plug-ins, code, and external tools to leverage more advanced data analytics techniques in Tableau.
  5. Develop a professional Tableau profile online to showcase your work done in this class.

Prerequisites Description

Students are expected to have basic knowledge of how Tableau works. It is recommended that students have taken a statistics course such as 90-707, 90-711, or 95-786, a database management course, and the 94-819 Data Analytics with Tableau, which covers the basics of preparing data, visualizing it, and creating dashboards and data stories.
