Our Master of Science in Health Care Analytics (MSHCA) program is designed to equip students with the knowledge and skills needed to transform health care. This interdisciplinary program blends health care, information technology, and data analytics to improve patient outcomes and streamline health care operations.
Students will learn to manage and analyze health data, implement health information systems, and lead projects that enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of health care delivery. Graduates will be prepared to work in hospitals, research institutions, public health organizations, and the health care technology industry.

What health care issues will i address?
At Heinz College, you will receive practical experience to complement your coursework through our Capstone projects, during which you'll solve a problem for real-life client. You will use your health informatics skills to predict health events before they occur, reduce barriers to care, and use AI and Machine Learning to leverage electronic health records. Here are some of our past projects:
- Applying AI to electronic health records to enable earlier interventions
- Creating digital platforms to help patients and providers with diabetes management
- Analyzing the discrepancies between organ transplant patient care handbooks
- Equipping a clinic in Haiti to access electronic health records without power or Internet access
- Collapsing the time from diagnosis to treatment using text analytics
- Using analytics to prevent the spread of infectious diseases
- Diagnosing pulmonary diseases with the help of AI
- Helping biotech firms identify which drugs are most likely to gain regulatory approval
