Putting Equity and Inclusion at the Center of Public Policy and Policy Schools
Equity and inclusion are at the forefront of public policy. Policy schools must be leaders in cultivating welcoming and inclusive climates that nurture the success of students from all backgrounds, as well as advancing learning opportunities for students related to issues of equity and inclusion. This panel will feature discussion of initiatives that center equity and inclusion; this includes developing new mission statements and course learning objectives with an anti‐racist lens, supporting and assessing students’ sense of belonging and well‐being, and supporting/developing a growth mindset. We will also share lessons learned from the deployment of a five‐year DEI strategic plan.
