Registration, Courses, and Advising

Registration process for all incoming students

The following are details regarding course registration for your first semester at Heinz College. For many programs, there is a specific set of courses that should be completed in the first semester. This will often include, in large part, required core courses.

Advising

Each incoming student will be assigned an academic advisor that will help with curriculum decisions. When assigning students to advisors we consider their work experience and declared area of interest; we try to fit each student with an appropriate advisor.

Each student will have a meeting scheduled with their advisor prior to the start of their first semester.

After your initial meeting with your assigned advisor, you may decide another advisor would be a better fit for your academic and professional goals. After this initial meeting, students are able to request a change of their academic advisor by completing a "Change of Advisor Form," which is available once you have matriculated.
