The Heinz College of Information Systems and Public Policy is home to two internationally recognized graduate-level institutions at Carnegie Mellon University: the School of Information Systems and Management and the School of Public Policy and Management. This unique colocation combined with its expertise in analytics set Heinz College apart in the areas of cybersecurity, health care, the future of work, smart cities, and arts & entertainment. INFORMS named Heinz College the #1 academic program for Analytics Education.
The unique co-location of our two schools, the School of Public Policy and Management and the School of Information Systems and Management, offers opportunities for collaboration that simply cannot be duplicated elsewhere. We also offer two groundbreaking Joint Degree Programs with the CMU College of Fine Arts. Our faculty and students know that exciting things happen when disciplines collide, when differing perspectives come into contact with one another.
Heinz College offers degree programs which can be of interest to students from a variety of majors and backgrounds. The Degree Program Matrix, provides a snapshot of common majors and career outcomes for each degree program, can be helpful for identifying which Heinz College program(s) would be a good fit for your students.
